Kate desires to establish an environment where clients feel safe in order to be vulnerable and to feel seen, heard, and known. She enjoys working with adults, adolescents, couples and families who are longing for healthier relationships with themselves and others. Kate has experience working with anxiety, depression, OCD, anger management, conflict resolution, substance use issues, blended families, and spiritual issues. Kate uses several different modalities based on the client’s needs, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Structural Family Therapy, and Bowenian Family Systems.

Kate is an Associate Professional Counselor under the supervision of Heather Cobb, LPC, CPCS. She completed her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Richmont Graduate University. She completed her clinical internship at Atlanta Mission and Hope Counseling Center in Atlanta. Kate received her Bachelor’s degree at Auburn University (War Eagle!). She has received further training in Emotion Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Exposure Response Therapy and Internal Family Systems. She has also spent time studying the Enneagram and often incorporates that in her practice. Before counseling, Kate worked in campus ministry at Wake Forest University, ministry in New York City, and student ministry at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek.

Kate is married to JP and has two stepkids and a daughter. They live in Suwanee, enjoy cooking and trying new restaurants, volunteering at their church, and spending time with their kids and cat, JoJo.

Kate looks forward to working with you to find hope and healing in your life and relationships!
