Carter is currently a clinical mental health counseling graduate student at Richmont Graduate University and is working under the supervision of Heather Cobb, LPC, CPCS.

His professional background includes four years in residential addiction treatment. Prior to that, Carter spent three years in Christian mission work, an experience that deeply shaped his faith and understanding of compassion, service, and the importance of meeting people where they are. It is from these experiences that made him passionate about working with teenagers and adults across a spectrum of needs, including addiction work, trauma, depression, anxiety, major life changes, and spiritual help. Carter is also working on his Trauma Certificate alongside his degree because he believes in the importance of trauma-informed care across treatment reasons.

Carter draws on evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, the Stages of Change Model, and cognitive-behavioral tools, but believes that connection and relationships are important to all therapeutic issues. Connection, trust, and feeling truly seen are at the core of meaningful change, and he strives to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. His goal is to help clients build self-awareness, develop practical tools, and move toward a life that feels purposeful and aligned with who they are.

What Carter values most are his relationships with his family, his friends, and the Lord. Outside of work, Carter enjoys winning board games against friends and family, reading too many books at once, rewatching the same movies and shows that bring him joy, and taking a good, long hike to make him feel active.
